This is in response to the Chris Reeve Green Beret Destruction test.

This test has garnered a lot of attention and controversy in the knife world. Simply because the 300 dollar Green Beret failed a hard use test that many very inexpensive knives have excelled at.

All the knives we test are put through the same things. They are all hit with  the Hammer of Truth. We did not do anything different with the Green Beret that we did not do with other knives of this type and namesake as a hard use combat knife before it.

This test showed the truth about the toughness and durability of the Green Beret knife. It was not tough and not durable as the Chris Reeve says it is. This is just a simple fact.

Yes we broke the knife with a hammer very easy. Our testing has shown a true tough knife will laugh at  the 3 lb hammer hits and ask for more. This was not the case concerning the Chris Reeve Green Beret. The knife broke very easy being hammered into wood.

Many true tough knives we have tested were able to be hammered into more then just wood. Many were hammered through concrete and steel with no catastrophic failure. These knives such as 15 dollar Cold Steel GI Tanto the 35 dollar Buck Nighthawk the 70 dollar Scrap Yard  Scrapper 6  and other knives for much less money were able to  accomplish very hard tasks without failure. Why you ask ?  Because they were very tough knives. Why did the Green Beret fail so quick ?  Because it is not a tough knife. Simple as that.

We are not  making claims without proof. We have all the proof on video to back up everything we say here.

The Green Beret was sent back to Chris Reeve for analysis. Chris Reeve posted a statement confirming the knife was not defective in my thread I always start on Blade Forums.com

This confirms the test was done with a non defective knife and the knife failed this hard use test simply because it was not up to the task and hard nature of this test.

The test is designed to separate fact from fiction concerning hard use combat knives with actual hard use. Knife Tests.com provides video proof of the results.

 For our part. Mission accomplished.

As a knife consumer. The  Final Judgement is yours.

Update:
When I was contacted by Chris Reeve knives and asked if I would return the knife for study. They said they would replace it under warranty. I received the new Green Beret knife.
