Your use may be different and may or may not reflect our rating.

Toughness and strength are the main factors in deciding the rating. Cutting,chopping,Splitting are considered as well and will affect the overall
rating. 

The ratings do not declare the toughest knife in the world.
for anyone to make this claim they would have to test every
hard use knife in existence. This is not economically possible on this site.
 
The ratings are only a guide for the toughest knife we tested so far.


About our destruction test:
The destruction test is designed to test Strength and toughness.
They do not focus on cutting performance,edge retention. Some
of this is demonstrated during the test but but it is not the main focus.

This is a Destruction test. We do fully destroy the knife to test it's limits
of hard use.

If they were cutting tests only They would be called this.

It does not matter if one does the things in the tests in their every day routine.

The goal is push and accelerate  the results in a way that gets the point across
to the viewer.

One should not look at the Destruction Tests   as an overall example of the knives other
performance properties and value.

We do not tell you to buy or not buy a knife. This decision is up to you.

Whatever our results you should use and enjoy any knife you like.
